The Principal clinicians and owners of Star Orthodontics are Kostas Spathoulas and Lumi Pavel. They took over the practice in August 2012 and not only invested in the infrastructure of the practice but transformed it into a state of art, leading specialist Orthodontic centre in South-East England with the latest high definition digital technologies in diagnostics and treatments.

Kostas is a specialist Orthodontist and the principal at Star Orthodontics. Since 2000, Kostas has been practising exclusively in Orthodontics. He graduated in Dentistry in 2000 at Carol Davila Dental Institute in Bucharest. He then undertook his post-graduate Orthodontic training and in 2003 he was awarded his Diploma in Orthodontics. He undertook his qualifying exams in Athens and became fully registered specialist Orthodontist in Greece.

After working for one year in Athens military hospital as an Orthodontist, he relocated with his family to the UK and became fully registered with GDC and was included in the specialist list in Orthodontics.
In 2006, Kostas established a specialist Orthodontic practice in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he treated more than 7000 NHS and Private orthodontic patients, both adults and children with the latest orthodontic technologies such as Damon, Invisalign and Incognito lingual braces. His practice became one of the most successful in Scotland.

In 2011 has relocated to London where he practiced Orthodontics in the prestigious Harley street district and in a specialist Orthodontic centre in Kent.

In 2012 took over as Principal at Star Orthodontics with the aim to provide outstanding orthodontic services to the patients of the practice that coming from all across South-East England. He is a member of the British Dental Association and an active member of the British Orthodontic Society.

Kostas has a special interest in a treatment philosophy called face driven Orthodontics that goes beyond straight teeth and offers his patients a full beautiful smile and enhanced facial characteristics with the need of extractions reduced dramatically. With revolutionary Damon appliances and now with the custom-made digital Insignia appliances he is an expert on the latest advances in Orthodontics. He has pioneered the blend of digital high definition technologies with his clinical skills to match the high expectations and needs of his patients.

Kostas strongly believes in continuing professional development and participates regularly in national and international Orthodontic conferences and courses to make sure he stays up to date with latest advancements in Orthodontics.
He loves using computer imaging to communicate better with his patient during their orthodontic consultations, to work closely with his dentist colleagues and he will not stop without making his patients fully satisfied with the outcome of their treatment.
